Just tried buying through summit - Their site says the new number for NGK R5671a-8 is now 4554. Is this the same plug?
Also says it's a non resistor - isn't that what the r stands for?

Their is also a web site www.sparkplugs.com. If you know what you want some of the hard to find #'s are their, plus you cannot always walk into a auto store and get 16 spark plugs. Their prices are competitive, but you got to pay shipping on top of the price.

That's true, NGK usually designates it's plug with an "R" for resistor. This plug is a NON resistor type. I guess in this case it stands for Racing. Summit was giving you the stocking number. Both numbers are on the box. I found them to be a little pricey there though.

The R / V series is a shorter plug also. Find a friend/ auto shop that has a acc at Napa .

I am changing the spark plugs. NGK BCP7ES.
The engine is supercharged... 540ci.
Any thoughts on this plug choice?

When I put PSI blowers on my 572" motors, Roger from PSI recommended an R6061-9 plug for my motors. They are 1110hp with the PSI blowers @10 lbs. of boost. By changing top pulleys I can get 14 lbs., but I don't want to run race gas to achieve that level of boost.
That plug, the R6061 is designed for racing and the "R" does not stand for resistor. Look into them. I have run them for 7 years with no problems. I'm also running an MSD 7 series marine box and MSD distributors. They never load up @ idle.

See alot of the 5671 through 5674's used..........

How does the NGK UR5 compare to this and what is the difference as well?

Friend of mine has been using the UR5's in 588's with 14-71 blowers and they have been great other than one engine starts hard every now and then. Once running they are great, hence being curious if he would benifit from a different plug.

Thanks
Jon
