Can a Stellings extension box for a Bravo
application be ran in the bottom set of
holes ( highest position) with any
problems to the drivetrain( due to the shaft angle) ?

I've heard both ways.

Stellings advertisement states they're
"adjustable"

Any info appreciated.

It can be done but it does put tension on the driveshaft. PM "OkieTunnel", i believe he has some bad experience with the high setting.

I already have stellings boxes, set in the
middle hole.

I tried a set of 5 blades, liked the way
they worked, and figured that they
could be ran higher, without resorting
to shorter lowers.

I run the same box , if you are going to move the drive up and you have offshore mounts raise the motor up the same amount. not a big deal if you are doing the box. Mine are in the bottom holes and I still need shorties.

Ahh, I see. This Land and sea option is far cheaper for me. I just have some steering isues to address.

Check before you buy, I haven't heard of excellent results. Also, it puts a heck of a lot more strain on the gimbal ring with the set back. It's kind of like putting a pipe on the end of a wrench to break the nut free.

I have offshore mounts,
Right now, the breather studs are very close
( actually , sometimes touch)
to the bottom of the hatch, not going to be able
to raise them without some mods ( scoops,
which the wife will most likely nix)

The official version is not without raising the engine, but I can tell you from personal experience that I've seen no ill effects.

I thought the same about more stress on the gimble, there is no doubt the gimble will work harder. I have spoken to people who have them, and they love them! One buddy on this board has been running over 80 mph since he installed them over a year ago, and the gimbles are fine.

I am still looking into things, I'm sold yet.

I only need another couple MPH (I know famuose last words).

The idea I have is these Sunsation 288's 04 and older tend to 'bounce' at 70 mph. I think if this stern jack helps me carry the nose, it should help, or eliminate the bounce. The bounce only happens in smooth water, but I still want it gone without draging my tabs.
