Exhaust hose?
I pulled my swim platform off to fix a few things, after seeing some other people modify thier platforms I would like to do the same. My question is has any one ever used couagated exhaust hose, Dana marine carries. It says the hose pretty flexable, enough for a 90* turn or close?
It`s Nov. and I only have six months to work on this
Thanks for the help

Re: Exhaust hose?
It will bend 90 degrees without kinking, but there are some concerns, your have to make sure your not going to create a hot spot with any type of direct exhaust flow pointing on that corner with no water flow. Second, it won't bend ninety degrees in a tight radius. The longer the piece, the easier it is to work with. Although the product will flex, it's not simple to work with, it usually requires some muscle to get in place.

I have nearly the twin boat to yours. From your avitar the color is the same and I have the same platform. I would be interested in pics if you post them. I have thought of doing the same. Also thought of captains call with through pipes but haven't found a graceful way of doing it yet.
I've also entertained the idea of a later modesl bolt on to lighten up the back of the boat. I hear that thing is fairly heavy.

AF, Do you have the exhaust coming out of the platform or thru the outdrive? At this point I have the platform off the boat, I took all the wood off the back. Now time to buy the parts. I will be changing the exhaust from rectangle to the standard 4 inch round. Even with this little modifaction it should be that loud. I ll post more in the formula section.

My 357SR-1 never had the factory Silent Thunder platform. I tried a teak platform and it always looked crappy. We made a euro-style platform out of starboard--her's the end result as an alternative to fixing the Silent THunder.
