Some say no, but....Merc & Bam still list new Vs & 3as on their sites ?

I need your input as well. I'm looking at a pair on arneson ASD6 Kits to convert to surface drives. Has anyone done this yet ??

Perhaps he was thinking that the cat is a no brainer because it backs air to provide the bow lift that the ADS cannot provide.

However, you are right many v-hulls work well with ASDs...but some hulls it might not be a good match if alot of bow lift is needed.

If I was rigging from new I'd go with the #6's one time. You wont be worried about breaking it every time you go out. You'll probably save money in the long run from all the repairs and you will have better resale value for sure than you will with an aftermarket drive. If you're worried about scrubbing a couple of miles an hour than stick your motor in a tiny v-drive and haul a$$.................
