Default ??? Replacement of Trim tab indicator cable

I need to relace one of my cables. I've re3cieved the relacement Red 33C supreme in the proper length, but not sure how to disconnect it from the helm.

Can I remove the plate from the back so that I can more easily access the unit from the front of the dash? pics to follow:

yes but take it very slow and carefull the indicators are spring loaded and if not carefull WILL fly all over have replaced many cables.....


oh and FYI if you loose one of the indicator springs the spring from a pen works great!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up.....I stuck the camera in the dash to take the pics, I can see even less of what I'm working on than the pic shows. When the rear plate comes off are the springs likely to spring or just if you move the display around too much? Should install the new from the tab end or at the indicator end first?

Use old cable as a fish disconect at transom pull into engine compartment then tape the two together and pull from front make shure you cut any wire ties first and pull toward bow
