Default 330/454 Bravo 1

I have a 1990 Bravo 1, 330/454. When I start it up, it will run for around 10 to 15 seconds and shut off, just like if I were to turn the key off. All the gauges go dead. Is there an engine shutdown integrated with the audio alarm system? I know the oil pressure switch needs replacing. I tested it. Would this shut the motor off or just sound the audio alarm?

If efi or mpi mtr there is a shut off that works off of oil press that works off of its own sender and is either over the oil filter ( if block mounted ) or teed off where the regular sender is

It will probably start up in less than two minutes. I do not see a fuse or circuit breaker in the ignition switch system other than the main 50-Amp breaker.

with out going through 50 questions.. id first look at the coil after the mtr stalls feel coil check if hot a quick guess would be a shorting coil... would cause mtr to die and could short dash

what happens is it gets hot, windings expand and short

cools down and windings separate

have seen it many times never saw dash short but it could since the purple wire to to coil also powers your gauges

I hot wired this thing last fall to winterize it. Ran like it always did. Thats why I'm leaning toward the o/pressure switch.
