350 LX motor build question???
#1
I'm wondering if anyone has any input on Competition Cams 1.52 ratio MAGNUM roller tipped rockers and push rods. for my 350 lx. They claim to produce between 15 and 30 h.p. over stock rockers because of a consistant lift and less friction. I idid run something similar years ago in my Z28 and felt they were worth it so I'm thinking now is the time.
Thoughts???

I ran them on a 350 mag the oil holes come out at an angle so when the motor is running the oil hits the valve cover and very little goes down into the ball and socket and on the tip I know this because i had rocker arm failure we checked it with a tip cleaner summit couldn't believe it til we showed them comp cams wanted me to install oil deflectors on top of the rocker arm stud to deflect the oil into the ball and roller. I installed another company's rocker arm Crane

You might see those gains with a full roller rocker. Those gains quoted are usually high and also taken at very high RPMS, where the full roller rockers improved accuracy pays dividends.

I have often wondered how much longer your valve guides will last from running roller tip rockers. It seems there would be less side load on the guide with the roller tip. Just help keep everything fresh a little longer.
