Default Pulling Bravo I

Are there any differences in pulling a Bravo I drive for u-joint/driveshaft spline greasing as opposed to a Bravo III? I've pulled many Bravo III drives (single engine applications) and the method always was to leave the throttle/shifter in the neutral position. When I pull the drive off, the shift cable pulls the drive into reverse? and pulls out the jaws opening them up and releasing the cable. When I go to pull a set of Bravo I drives that are on a twin engine boat with separate throttles and shifters (both motors are same hand rotation, props rotating out), do I do the same method of leaving the shifters in neutral before pulling the drives or do you have to shift the drives into forward or reverse (differences port to starboard?) before pulling the drives? Thanks in advance for any help on this topic!!
