Are you running on the hose or in the water ?
If on the hose,
Make sure the front of the trailer is high enough to prevent a forced reversion.
If in the water,
Do you have merc silent choice with the "Y" pipe. There are also flappers in there. I had one that was bad in my boat and it ingeseted some water.

Well,
i just ran a leakdown test (cold, yea, I know) and #1 was leaking thru the exhaust valve and 3 was leaking thru the intake valve. They were both around 5% at 90-100psi. They were audible and also you could feel the air coming thru the respective manifolds. 5 and 7 were less than 5%, but you could hear it going either thru the rings or out the head gasket. Hard to tell.
Funny thing was the other side sounded better, but all 4 jugs were leaking about 10%. I know the % don't mean much when cold. Hopefully tonight I can tear it down to check gaskets and also flatness.
Its always been run in the water (my neighbors aready love me ) and it is thru hull only.
Thanks.

I would not recommend using the Fel1003 head gaskets. They are not stainless core and if this is an open cooling system the gaskets will rot away.

What would you recommend? I am running 0 deck, and right @ 10:1, (depending on gasket thickness)
Thanks

Some pictures of port head ports and jugs. Looks like water was coming down the cut-in bronze seat on #3 and perhaps #1
Side shot of head still on block
#1 port
#3 port
(deleted because pic below is better)
#3 port, notice the pattern of the rust. Looks like it originates from the bottom of the guide and is blown out from there from the exhaust pulses
Bores look OK, except #3 which is glazed.

No, there is no sign of water on intake side, or on the bolts. I used red silicone on the threads of the headbolts.

in your first picture it looks like the water has been pooling in the bottom of the exhaust manifold and making a rust mark at the bottom of the exhaust port. I would definitely pressure test that header and riser, I know it's new but..
It's possible that the valve guides could be leaking also.

I asked Terry at revolution, and he said that they were checked before shipping. He also said that in 4 years none have cracked...
But...
It isn't going to hurt anything to hook them up to a garden hose...
