I know the number that I was given before was 680 hp @ 5600 rpm and 675 ft/lbs or torque at 4900 previous to having Jim V. flow my heads. These are 540s. They are of course using the dyno headers on chain driven operation. I don't know what correction factor that they used before.

Thanks again for you input.

If anything I would try to talk to scott at CFM tek (he's on this board and speed wake) and try to get one of these turtle deals you lay in plenum below carb as I think he says it may boost your power by 10-35 hp,maybe just in the midrange but worth trying on dyno,Smitty

The more tuning you can do while on the dyno the less time you're going to have to spend once you're in the water. If at all possible using Wet exhaust is always best since it can change your tune-up a bunch. You should at least try going up and down on your jetting, timing, valve lash etc. This way you'll know how it affects your engine, and will give you a better idea of what to do once the engine is in the boat.

boatman22,
You can also call Larry Meaux @
http://www.maxracesoftware.com/
He is located in Abbeyville, LA. It would be well worth the drive. He is one of the most competent tuners/cylinder head specialists anywhere. I have personally seen him find significant power in the tune on finished engines. If you would like a reference, PM Thunderstruck here on OSO.

Westside Performance & Machine
9100 Emnora LN
Houston, TX 77080

(713) 465-7996 ask for Sig

Make sure you are both clear on what is to be done.

Having the engines preped for dyno will save time and money.

Water pump, pulleys and belts etc.
