How to replace Flappers inside Exhaust Tips?
I have 4" Thru-hull stainless tips and one is missing the inside rubber flapper (assuming this helps to stop water reversion). Can I buy a replacement part or do I need to buy the whole tip? Thanks

They are welded in so you probably need to get new tips or return them to the factory. I broke one last year but they were made by Corsa and had a lifetime warranty. Corsa replaced the flappers in both my 14 year old tips for free. Don't get in the water with a broken flapper, they are critical for preventing reversion.

They can be replace if you have a welder. I tried and bought the replacement and it only lasted a month. Maybe if I knew how to weld better it would of been a diff story. I just ended up buying a new tip.

If they are Rex Tips we will upgrade the older flappers to the Superflapper™. Unfortunately most other brands wount fit our fixturing because they're .065 wall tube and we use .083.

Re: How to replace Flappers inside Exhaust Tips?
I have the older Gill tips with the rubber flapper.
The flapper is mounted to a tab inside the tip with two screws and nuts.
I purchased some reinforced rubber material through Grainger, and made new flaps. Mounting them back in was simply a matter of making two holes in the rubber (with an awl), so the screws could go through. They work fine. Check your tips, and see how they're mounted.
If they're rubber like you say, they're obviously not welded in.
