I have an 01 Top Gun and the steering is very stiff,only had it 3 months,previous owner says it always was.Drives are free cause Ive had them off,could the helm itself be bad?

Im guessing it has external steering if so what make and is it running On one ps pump or two

It has one pump,external steering,Mayfair I think.

there should be an inline filter try bypassing it and see if it improves if it does replace it
