Mine did not. The exhaust valves and exhaust ports where set up higher on my Merlin Heads than a stock GM head. I had to use tall valve covers to clear the rockers. This was a gen 6 setup if that matters and I did grind off all the oil drips before I tried to use the valve covers.

I used the older cast aluminum ones if that makes a difference.

I wonder what was different,my valve covers were off a 2000 gen 6 502 mpi,the heads were merlin vr cast iron with raised exhaust ports and plus .100 exhaust valves. I used crane gold rockers and with the AFR heads I'm using comp cam's JUNK magnum rockers,stockers cleared both. I'm installing T & D shaft rockers soon. My blower inlet touches the stock valve cover,going to a aftermarket one is out of the question unless I make some serious mods on the blower mounts,Smitty

Different heads have different height valve cover rails. You'll really notice this on small block heads. As a heads up.
