My 350 MAG was doing the same thing, salve solenoid was shot.
Ok...found it tucked neatly out of sight under the mercathode just to the right/rear of the carb. I used pliers to jump the two large connections and the engine turned over. Did that twice for about 3 seconds each time. So, I'll order the solenoid and change it.
