320 EFI with Alpha SS Jump on it or run the other way?
Found a Formula 272 with these motors/drives. I've read all the 320 EFI and Alpha SS threads and it seems like a mixed bag. If they're running good, they'll probably continue to run good. Or the seller found a problem and is ditching them before spending big bucks.
Besides some electrical gremlins, I understand the worst thing that can happen is salt water corrosion on the aluminum pieces. I suppose pulling the intake is the only way to know for sure?
For the 320 EFI, what parts truly aren't available and not easily replicated by automotive pieces?
As for the Alpha SS, is the shorter driveshaft the hardest part to come by? I've read the upper gears are available in HD replacements, and the lower can be replicated with an outboard piece. Anything else? I've got to figure out the deal with the low water intake?
Thanks for everything,
Michael
