getting ready to plumb my motors and checking for idea's .....my idea about the chrome is that it shouldn't matter all that much .... I mean isn't most the heat transfer from the tubes to the water flowing thru the cooler ? Now if the cooler was finned and a fan blew over it .... just a thought ....

Be careful with chroming oil coolers. Most coolers are solder or brazed construction internally and the heats generated in some chrome dipping processes can reak havoc on those joints internally, which can really screw up a good motor very quickly when water joins oil!

Here's a place where you can get some huge coolers. I just bought a pair of coolers with 3" x 18" cores. Other than the Teague coolers I don't know where else you can get coolers this big.http://i-netmarine.com/oil_coolers/s...il_coolers.htm
