Default Bennett Tabs

Hey guys I have Bennett trim tabs on my Formula and was wondering if it was possible to put a trim gage on them and how are they mounted?Where would I get a set up from?Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Nordic95

yes they make a trim indicator set it requires replacment of one ram cap on each side it has a wire in it that goes to a module in the dash and an led indicator on the dash. you should be able to get them at any marine store

The Bennett trim indicator requires that you disassemble the rams to install a sensor then the installation of the indicator and wires.
Kit is available from Bennett or through most marine stores.

I have Bennett LED indicators, I don't like them too much. The back lighting was out on one of them and was not just a bulb to fix. Also the range of the indicators didn't seem to match the range of the tab.

When I painted my engine compartment this year I did not reconnect the sender wires and plan on installing mechanical indicators from Lovorsi this winter.

Definately do NOT get the Bennett LED kit. Its not favorable for our type of boats.

Sonic installs a mechanical setup just like on the K-planes. I would definately go this route. I can't remember, but I had mechanical indicators on my Bennetts on my Sonic. I think the indicator was mounted to a bolt on the part of the tab that the rams attach to. Perhaps someone in the Sonic forum can provide a picture of how this is setup. Most of the 26' Sonics are this way. I believe the 25' Baja Outlaw is often setup this way as well. I don't recommend the Bennett LED indicators. Too man issues.

Brownie above and Fred at www.trickmarine.net would be places I would talk to.
