Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
Dead heads kill pumps.
I went with aeromotive set up.Weldon just to expensive. Talked with aeromotive and they said water seperator after pump. Because the smallest filter to use is a 100 micron before the pump.I put in one of theres(100 micron) before the pump. My permacool i think was 10 microns. Mounted my pump up higher then the tank which they said is fine as long as you put in a check valve after the pump. |
Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
I think Aeromotive, SX and Weldon (alphabetical order :D ) are the top 3 pumps on the market.
I went with Aeromotive, mostly because of cost, availability and customer support. Bypass system is THE ONLY way to go. As you already noted, a good voltage supply is critical. |
Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
Is there a high flow in line filter for before the pump in size
12AN availble? My aeromotive is size 10AN. I am 12AN up the to pump and 10AN from the pump to the regulator. In a worse case scenario, would you anyone run no filter before the pump to keep flow high? |

Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
Holy cow, that thing is huge!!!
I was hoping to find somehthing smaller. I currently have A Eickert 200gph filter before the pump, with two pick ups in the tank. Just reading about puting the filter after the pump and it got me thinking... What is below the diamondplate floor? |
Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
The water sep is on the left grey tank, the blue tank I think is a oil dry sump system. I have a cp mech add on to the merc, pump good for 130gal per hour also have a black elec still in the box. # 10from tank to sep to merc pump still 10s split to carb 8s 1050 nickerson. seems to work good.

Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
under the plate is wheree the fuel return coolers are.
the filter is the grey cylynder on the left. the large blue can in the middle is a water canister/ stainer. x-tra capacity to purge air from the water before it enters water system and to also regulate pressure v.i.a blowoff vlaves and bleeds. the inlet is -12 o-ring, but can be reduced w/ appropriate fittings and you will need nothing more than that setup. |
Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
Will that filter spin onto the Eickert mount? Is it also a water separator?
|
Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
dont think so, but i would call and ask. Its made my RAMCO. in my opinion it is the best filter on the market. and its not that pricey.

Re: Fuel Pump Advice Needed:
Do you have a part #? Maybe I can determine the thread and gasket sizes. Did you say it separates water?
