Alpha Drives???

A friend is in need of help regarding Alpha drives. What is the difference betweeen Gen 1 and Gen 2?

I assume they are both the same bolt pattern, gimbal, etc...

Alpha 1 and Gen II are not interchangeable. Gimbal ring bolt patterns are different. I believe the transom assy mounting bolt patterns are the same though. If going from Gen I to Gen II the entire system has to be swapped.
