Kaama to TRS?
#23
Oh hell no.
Our boot has absolutely nothing to do with sealing water out of the boat or the drive unit.
Weismann used the same boot as the KAAMA on their early drive version but when it became apparent that the boot was no longer available, they changed their design.

I knew someone made a drive that used the same boots. Btw, let me know when Terry Bearing quits making those "hard to find parts" they sell over the counter for Kaamas.

Please don't blame me for KAAMA's problems.
True, Bearings are Bearings, seals are seals but you are over simplifying the fact that the gears, housings, shafts, etc. cannot be purchased from any place you just walk into.
These are no longer in production, and it has been well over 15 + yrs since they were last made.
The boot is a service item and just another nail in the coffin so to speak or "writing on the wall" that there are problems with going with the KAAMA drive unit.
