That MB Quart should really kick but but the $430++ for a pair and the space required has ruled it out for me but I really like the concept of fewer big speakers to keep it simple
I really like the new JL stuff but again 2 pr is $600 - $800 and they would be a thief magnet like a convertable Porsche in manhattan!
So I have found the Alpines 7" that have nearly identical specs to the JL's and may try them unless someone has had really bad experiences with Alpine.

i went with a pair of pioneer 8" 2 ways in my boat. i suggest putting an amp on them as i did for clarity at high volumes. i can hear the stereo loud and clear at 58 mph. the 8" 2 way memphis audio coaxs are comparable but i went with the pioneer because they "appeared" more durable. i do agree with the rest of the bunch about the jl stuff, it is the best.
