I've got a 540 with an M3 sitting on my dyno(with lightning headers). I held a Dana manifold up to it nad it looks like it will clear the PC Ok. FYI, this engine made 925 HP with 6 psi boost and 1005 with 8 PSI.
Does anyone know whether the Dana manifolds can work with a Procharger M-3 setup?
I would love to buy a set of these but I need to know if the Procharger inlet will hit the manifold. I'm currently running Lightning Headers (which have a swept back primary pipe) and the inlet of my M-3 just about touches the header.
I've asked this question on another thread but no seemed to know anyone that was running this combination.

Thanks very much bobl. That's exactly what I wanted to hear!
And thanks for the info on the 540. Mine has flattop pistons (Mahle) and Jim V ported AFR heads and a 255/264 duration w/ .652" lift Comp solid roller. I'm hoping to make over 1,000hp with 8-10 lbs of boost. Sounds like this should be possible.
I'm going to order a set of the Danas soon and I'll try to post some photos once I have 'em installed. Thanks again guys for all your help.

That's a stout 540. If it is making 925hp at 6lbs. boost and 1005hp at 8lbs.boost, it is making about 670hp N/A (1.24hp/cid). Build the best you can N/A and then put the blower on it.

Here's a link to a video of the dyno pull at 8 psi boost.

Cobra, you are correct. This was a N/A engine making 650+. I dropped the compression a little and went to a larger cam, then installed the procharger.

[QUOTE=DONZI33;2051085]Possibly this will help you..
1.78" headers = 2.759" of surface area @ the head for each ports. The Dana's have 3.062" od surface area @ the head for each of the ports.
That would put the Dana primaries = at approximatley 2 to 2.25" where the primaries bolt to the heads.
I believe that where the risers on a dana meet the manifold ports they have an opening surface of 11.14 combined for the 4 ports before entering the vortex/venturi collector. A header with 1.78" tubes would have a surface area of about 11.036" where it enters the collector
Also an FYI CMI E tops have 15.5" runners. The Dana has 27" runner equivalents.
If you need more info or would like to order a set please give me a call.. Jamie / Lakeside 570-639-2628
BTW: We have a set coming that is going to be installed on our own new Donzi.. Jamie

Why wasn't I informed of this.....thought you were going to wait until next winter.....

Thanks for the video link bobl. That really got my blood pumping!!! The idle sounds just like my 540 (which I cranked up for the first time in N/A form on Sunday) so I'm thinking you probably got a wee-bit of cam in it .
Awesome! Why you just go ahead and throw them Danas on it and tell us what kinda power it makes then!!

Just a few more questions:
What kinda heads are you running? Looks like cast iron? If they are, that's awesome power man!
Do you think (or know) whether the Extreme Velocity carb hat outflows/outperforms the Vortech carb enclosure? That's what I'm running but I'm leaning towards a carb hat because the box makes it a REAL PITA to tune the carb.
Lastly, it appears that you have some sort of elbow pipe on the inlet of the M-3 - do you know who makes that? Is is a Procharger peice?
Thanks!

Mine will be shinnyer.. I am having my manifolds Crome powedercoated (I am using their military spec hard annodized ones). The risers I am just going to keep polished.. Jamie / Lakeside
