How much slip?
#13
I used to hae the same model boat. Mine was an 87. I never checked the slip back then, basically cuz I didn't know how. But, I had a 420+ HP 454 with Gil exhaust and the boat would run 70mph steady at 5000rpm max. It also had an Alpha SS that never ever failed me spinning a 26 Trophy 4 blade large hub. I also ran labbed finished hydromotive and Bravo 1 with little difference. I even ran a High Five for the first couple of years.
Anyhow, that boat will run and handle very well for it's size and can take good horsepower and water. When I sold it to my friend in Florida, he put about 600HP to it running somewhere around 80 and the drive still never failed.
Good luck with your boat and dont be afraid to put the HP to it!
BTW...the stern jack did not help at all.

YEA , thats my boat , except w/o the same horsepower , same colors too
arent the alpha SS drives hard to find parts for?
i have a friend that has a pair on his nova 26 and they seem to handle horsepower well
i'm gonna stick with the bravo 1
more horsepower will come in the fall with a 454 thats getting warmed up a lil to about 420-430 horse with fuel injection
as for the prop slip , in a couple weeks i'll be back in the water with a few different props to test out (gotta love ebay)
thanks for all the reply's
this is by far the best online community out there for boaters

I Looked at a 230 enforcer , its about 2 feet shorter then my 24 , the 230 enforcer has the swim platform molded into the length of the boat , ergo you can effectivly use a 25p prop
i still think it would be overkill on my rig
