If they stick down too far they will definitely increase slip. I had a customer's boat that would hardly get on plane because of slip after installing drive shower. Trimming it short solved the problem. I'm not sure about top speed though. I'm sure it would hurt it slightly, but to actually see a measureable difference? Let us know what you find out.

Because of these issues that always get brought up i am still staying away from putting on drive showers.I am still wondering if they are more hype than nessaity( sp ). I have had performance boats for 15 years, mild ones and have drove fairly sane with no problems from bravo ones,with no drive showers,just reg.maintance.

I lost 1/2 mph off the top end with the Simrek Halo. I didn't notice any additional blow-out on take-off or turns. The tube ends are installed to the correct depth.
