Default Bravo trim rams sticking

Hey guys, my trim rams won't pull the drive to the full in position. I am assuming that the problem is in the rams. Is there any chance that the problem could be in the pump? It goes to about the 1/4 position and stops (even under power).

Thanks in advance,

Rene

Under power as in trim pump power or motor power?

Motor power. I could be running wide open and the rams aren't pulling in. I thought that it was the sender, but after checking it out, the drive is definitely not going all the way in. The trim pump seems to be working fine and sounds a little funny if I hold it against the stop. But it always sounds that way. The rams seem to be moving fine except that they won't come all the way in.

Does the trim pump shut off as soon as the trim stops moving regardless of position? If so, check the trim limit switch on the left side of the drive. If it loosens and rotates, it messes up the trim. Also,if the large pivot pin comes loose, that will allow the trim switch to move, so check that 1st to make sure it is tight. All behind the round plastic cap.

your rams need to be rebuilt or replaced. winter storage usually a cause of this due to water or sediment in the internals of the cylynders

good luck

Thanks. Hopefully I'll knock that out for next weekend.

Took the drive off yesterday and cycled the rams with the drive off and they seem to be perfect. I think that I pulled an idiot move and installed the spacer on the wrong side of the pin when I put it back on last time.

Learn as you go,
