Default Remote drive trim switches/stereo remote

I'm interested in putting a remote switch for the drive tilt on my boat. Anyone know if this is something that can be added? I've seen a couple of new boats with merc powerplants that have this. That could be real handy. Also, i have a non marine sony stereo, i don't suppose there is some universal wired remote that works with that, that could be mounted on the back as well?

If your sony stereo has an input on the back for a wired remote, you can use a sony marine wired display remote. thier not cheap, but i wouldn't have a boat without one.

The fact your radio is non marine should have no effect.

Try these switches for your drives and or tabs,I added a double water proof switch for my drives at the transom and love it for maintance. No climbing in and out of the boat. They also engrave them like merc does from the factory.

Turns out that remote should work. I googled my radio for specs, and the optional commander they call it, is compatible with the one you gave me the link for. Only thing is, on the same page of the link, it shows extender cables, and it doesn't show the above mentioned remote as being compatible with them. Kinda weird, guess i will have to get ahold of them.

These are the remote model numbers, not stereo models.

It was my impression that all Sony radios that had the 1/8" phone remote jack can use the same remotes. I think you have to stay with in the same brand lines.

I'm using a Sony marine remote with display on my Sony head unit (that has the uni-link jack) that does not say they are compatable. Even the Sony tech guy said they won't work together. But they do.
