Has anyone used the Scan only version? Not the scan and tune version. The $200 price looks like a good alternative from the much higher $$ Diacom.

How does it compare to the Merc/Rinda scan tools?

Just looking for something to read all the numbers for trouble shooting, not reprogramming.

We used this on my boat. We were BETA testers for the development. Works good.

I bought this software for MEFI 1 during the summer and gave up trying to get it to work. I would get data, but it was always erratic. i.e. timing at idle would read anywhere from 13* to 2000* just moving around like crazy. I talked to Bob and he suggested I play with the data stream speeds and all it did was get worse. I gave up calling him and gave up on the software. I've wasted $200 on less!

BETA is like VHS, only smaller & less avalibity.
BETA is actually a term used for stuff still in development/fine tuning.

Alrighty. Thanks guys.

Going to look for a used Diacom then, or a Scan tool.

In a small number of instances the electrical noise in the engine compartment will cause some data samples to drop out while scanning, causing the values to fluctuate. The samples that are there are valid and show the correct data. Occasional scanning data packet lose is expected, but in some cases the data drop outs are frequent enough where the displays will have values bouncing around, like in Griswald's, making it distracting to read. We now have a cable that has much higher RF electrical noise immunity. Griswald, if you would like to send us your cable we will send you a new one. We are here to provide useable solutions, and this scanning package, for less than $200, shows you every parameter from the MEFI controller with detailed logging capability.

Just to clarify.......spoke with Bob on the phone yesterday and we were able to get data with the motor running. Taking it out today to record some runs and see what happens. I believe the shielded cable is a must, regardless.

US1 - I think you'll be OK if you go this route.
