Default Rigging outboards what height on 24 Banana

I have a banana / cigarette 24 hull and it has twin 200 merc w/ 20 inch shafts. The way the boat is set up now it takes at lest 2 min to get up on plane. I am trying to figure what height they should be mounted at. Where should the cav. plates be in regards to the hull. Any help would be great.

thanks old school fan

I'm surprised no one has spoke up. I assume it is new to you, has low water pick ups, motors are on transom with out brackets. you are swinging 26 inch choppers. I have run a Velocity with twins 80 mph with 29's ,a 26 Seahawk with twins 72 74 with 26's.I would think you should run strong 70's with 26 or 28 inch props. Hole shot on these outboards aren't great but should come up with 2 or 3 handfulls of 5 grand once its up they are a lot of fun. Generally with out brackets the propshaft should be down from bottom 2 to 3 inches. With more of your specific info maybe I can share more thoughts

depending on props, cases, ratio, and set up 2-3 is o.k .

rotation is also key.

the best all around set up on a 24 footer o/b, is usually a manual setback like a cmc. prop shaft close to even with the bottom. turn the props in. and use a 1:87-1 ratio speed master turning a lightning e.t 3 bld.
this has been proven to work well in water like the great south bay here on long island.
good planing great handling, and 82-86 on top end with v-6's makin 225+.
