ok guys i,m stripping the inside of the transom out and have a piece of 60mm aluminium honeycome cut out to fit and i,ll get the local pool guy to lay her up with the chopped strand gun. my question is when mounting the sterndrive would you have the cavitation plate level with the bottom of the boat or up a bit i have had both and the one that was set up about an inch anda half seemed to steer a lot nicer and had more top speed but if you really leaned on it in a turn it would cavitate a bit , so what would you experts do. cheers tassie boy

no update,s yet guys, the weather has been frigging cold and wet down here and i,ve been doing nightshift. life just slips by when you sleep all day .one question --- how come americans as a rule don,t like ford v8,s and there is almost no mention at all about cleveland,s. cheers tassie boy

Most of it is just fun ribbing. Ford dropped out of the marine industry a number of years ago, so chevy is pretty much the only game in town.(a few Vipers around). I actually run a Cleveland in my ski boat. Absolute bomb proof motor, and has given me very few problems ever.
Good news is, spring is coming your way. Darrell. |
thats excellent darrell good to see that the old clevo,s haven,t been totally overlooked.i would have loved a bbc but over here they are either overpriced or rooted but i think everyone i know has at least 1 clevo lying around. cheers. tassie boy.

The other great thing about the Cleveland is, they can easily be taken out to 427. there are a ton of aftermarket parts available for them.
