I'm new to the forum and am looking at a 87 Scarab Panther (for a ridiculously low price) and I'm wondering if there is anything I should look for as far as problems?
Thanks in advance for any replies

Make sure to get a survey done and check for rot.

My first "offshore style" boat was a Scarab Panther...
Learned lots and spent lots on that boat...
I had 454 w/TRS...
MY boat required lots of tab and chine walked above 50mph..
I didn't have any problems... but others have told me that the transom rot in these boats could be an issue..
But I did like those flat deck lines...

I had one. You're going to need hyd. steering if it has more than 330's in it. The old steering and gimbles get a lot of play in them and you end up all over the water at high speed. 420's got me up just over 70.
