Hi BS,

the originals where plastic at transom and brazen at the notch.

I replaced the fittings after my personel experience without this vent by
stainless steel fittings.

Hi BS,

the fitting is in the center to the keel,
and because clearance problem´s with the oil pan
I replaced it a little to the tramsom.

Work´s great !

I would expect that the best place for it is as near to the front of the notch as possible (towards the bow) but as Marcus explained, he has moved it further towards the transom after installing the 540, and it still works fine.

On the picture shown he had not yet refitted the fitting and pipe, which is when he found out what it was there for!

It would be good to know what diameter of fitting and hose has been used, as I think the larger the better!

Hi Steve,

I followed your recommendation "bigger is better" and
used 1 1/2"

Bad Influnce or Wild Card 09,
How thick is the hull at the notch? I'm trying to get the correct length thru-hull on order. Thanks, LF
