Default SmartCraft install help

Purchased a boat with the smartcraft 5000 display. Not sure if the old owner did the install or sent it out for hte install.

It powers up but no link with the engines.
I did some checkign today. Its a twin engine boat with one display. Both cam bus cables run to the helm area and under th dash in the 4 junction box. Both engine cam bus on one side and the smart craft plug and term resistor on the pther side.
It pwrs up but no link. Just all dash's and zero for info. I tried switching some plugs around. Actaully when I found it one engine cam bus was unplugged. Hmm I though easy fix. When I plug it in. And turn either engine key to on pos. Both engines seem to get pwr(both sets of guages turn on)
Any step by step or some one I can contact for some help and testing. Hate to bring in for this.
Dennis

depending on which engines you are using you need mercury software to program the units.

it could also be the wrond termination cap.

Often times the user simply failed to "assign" the starboard engine. Upon initial installation, you must "tell" the SC System "which" engine is starboard. Once it knows which engine is starboard it will move to next steps. The manual should say that also I think. Hope that helps a little maybe.

cheers!
