First Oil Change
I purchased a 1990 Fountain Fever 27 with twin 454 mags. Never owned big blocks and I'm planning to change the oil soon. The motors are stock with 200hrs what oil should I use? 5w-30, 10w-30 . . . ?

mercury oil 25 w 40 is a good conventional oil. mobil 1 15 w 50 full synthetic is a good oil as well for synthetic's. mercury high performance filters are good filter's as they are made by wix i believe.

Do not use a 5W30 or 10W30. They are too thin for marine use. In a conventional oil you can go with a straight 40W, Merc's 25-40, or a good quality 20W50 such as Kendall. In a synthetic, I would go with Mobil 1 15W50.
