Audi.

It's basically 2 V-6 engines using a common crankshaft and more or less siamesed into each other. The left-side outer row of cylinders is a 60-degree V-6 referenced to the right side inner row. It has a 6-throw crank with offsets on each throw journal.

I dont think its anything at all.Looks like a back yard mechanic with some walmarts tools trying to look like someone important. I had an engine guy just like this once, turned out to be a TOOL saleman.

It's definitely the Audi. I've seen the engine disassembled.

It is an Audi/ V.W. motor. It is used in the V.W. Phaeton here in the states.

Rob,

That is a clip from a video from Matsuura. The particular segment is the production of a Bugatti Veyron W16 (16 cylinder)block manufactured at the VW factory. The block is machined from a solid billet core. The entire video of this process can be viewed here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GU32Q6QXtWQ

It appears during the initial machining process the block is a W12, however at the 7:00 minute mark of the video you can clearly see the final stages begin where the additional 2 hole per side are final machined. Also it is evident the block is not an Audi/WV piece by the differences in the span of the valley in the photos below.

The assembly process of the Veyron W16 engine can be viewed here:

Bob you did somemore digging than me

Look at 1.53 It looks to be a forge crank. not billet.

Bob look at 4.53 the block looks cast in the video.

Its weird the macing the back 2 cylinders at a diff time ,maybe its the fixture?
