Yes, whatever the "by the book" service is. Nothing broken, just maintenance. If you have a Mercury dealer complete a service, what should it cost for parts and labor?
|
Well, the two blue gaskets are like .75 cents a piece and merc hp gear lube is $9 and some change x 3(it should only take 2.5)....im not sure about the labor b/c i do it in my driveway. Its way too easy to pay somebody else anything more than a beer to do. I did make one of those garden sprayer fill bottles.
I have paid for it done on my last boat and that is all they do. Sorry i cannot remember the price for labor. You getting a real high bill? $30-40 hr labor? |
Should only be a half hour of labor plus about $30 for the oil for a single. At 65.00/hr that would be 32.50 plus 30 for the oil for a total of $62.50.

Also, grease coupler and gimbal bearing.
|
Labor is $100 per hour in San Diego.

yeah....whatever zirks you have, grease them. |
Also a good time to check your sacrificial anodes.
Magnesium for fresh water, Zinc for salt, Aluminum for brackish. Also look at your plastic gimbal ring wear pads. |
Those plastic wear pads are very important.
