Just curious why you would want to hook it up to a hand held.

Originally I was going to hook the speedo to my gps because I did not want to mount the antenna, I found out that you don't have to mount the antenna externally so I just mounted it inside the dash. It works perfectly.

I hooked mine up to the handheld to save a few bucks by not buying an antenna. All I had to do was connect two wires form the handheld harness to the speedo harness. My handheld is mounted on the dash.
