New SBC ready to go!
I spent the last couple months putting together my new stroker. Fired it up last week and plan on installing in the boat early next month. Just wanted to throw out the specs and eye candy to other bored boaters during this long winter.
Specs.... 385ci SBC
010 4 bolt SBC, bored .040", 0 decked, line honed,
ESP 4340 3.750 crank, ESP 6" 7/16" H beams, Mahle forged FT's 5cc, C77H bearings, Hines Balanced
Melling Racing #10555 oil pump, Hamburgers 7qt marine pan, full length windage tray.
FluiDamper harmonic balancer,
AFR 190cc heads, 73cc, further ported by Carl McQuillen Racing Engines, Isky 6105 dual valvesprings,
Marine Kinetics "RMbuilder" custom Hyd Roller 234/240 .580/.568 112+4
Morel Retrofit Hyd Roller lifters
Smith Bros .083" wall pushrods
Edelbrock RPM Air Gap port matched to AFR port
Holley HP 750 DP
Lunati Voodoo Widebody 1.5 roller rockers
Glenwood aluminum Magnaflow manifolds
FastGlass Stainless 16" long risers
Full MSD ignition setup, coil, wires, dist, 6AL,
10.07-1 SCR
With my 23P labbed cleaver it should spin to 6000rpms. Right in the peak power range of the custom cam.
I had a few droplets of water in the center runners of the manifold after the reversion check so I will be extending my risers another 4-5". That will put them right in the middle of the tip killing the reversion. Right now the water mixes 4" before the tips.
It's going in my 1984 22' Hammond Challenger MKII
This pad bottom hull is very light 1800lbs dry and it should fly. I'm shooting for high 70's maybe an 80!
It ran low 70's GPS all day long last summer with a 355ci AFR headed motor. 76GPS on a cold day was the highest I saw.

Ryan, That package should put a smile on your face. Last fall I built and installed a similar eng. Had it on the water twice b-4 the lake got low and winter set in. Found a few things that needed correcting. My 383 has the AFR's 195 Elim. w/ 65cc heads, 6" rods. all forged bottom, mahle 16cc dish pistons, O decked, .039 Felpro head gasket. Bullet Cam (Ultradyne) 230/238, lift .540/.525 and set at 111.25 w/ 4* adv. I would of liked to dyno'd eng. but that seems to be a problem in the Atlanta area. Even the speed shops was hesitant to recommend. Ryan i'll be in touch (PM). here is a pic of mine.

tmdog, Sounds like a runner for sure. I'm envious of the Eliminator heads. After the additional work my 190's flow almost what the 195 Elims flow. What exhaust are you running? If I can get a deal like last year on an engine dyno day i'm going to throw mine on and see what it makes. A few shops and engine builders said with 1.75" dyno headers around 475-490hp. I would love to see the difference between them and the boat exhaust.
Unfortunately I can't see your pics as I am a regular user. Shoot them to me at [email protected].

Looks like a pretty nice piece. Do us the honor of posting a video on youtube of it running when you get it in the boat. Two of those would be real nice in my 28 cig.
tmdog,
how do you like that DUI ignition?

Had the DUI for 3 yrs. Easy to hook up and reliable. Dist. is marine approved. Factory set it up w/ 22* advance at 3200 rpm. With initial timing set at 12*, have total timing 34*.
