As I was saying, although I rarely ever post on OSO, I felt I had to put in my two cents regarding this issue.

After years of experience with centrifugal, root and screw type blowers, we have gained a good perspective of the differences between them.

The 305R Whipple is the best belt driven Supercharger we have ever tested. We observed low charge air temperature, very low parasitic drag, better idle qualities, and good fuel distribution in a throttle-body configuration.

We have had great success using the Whipple 2300 & 3300 blowers on the 500EFI & 525EFI's and would highly recommend them as an upgrade.

So Mark, all you did is just swap a roots for the 305 Whipple and at the same boost no changes it made 100hp more?

I guess that would because of parasitic drag and efficiency of the blower?

I wonder what the difference between the Superchiller innercooler VS the Whipple innercooler would be?

What are the dimensions of the 305R??? Is it the same height as a 671/871?

WHat if you had used a 14-71 instead of a 10-71? Would there still be a huge power difference? What about a chiller?

We will do that test soon and if OSO will let us I will post results.

Whipples are cool, and there is no doubt about there performance specs.

I just like that gian t Blower sticking up on top of that engine, and all of the noise that goes with it. Not that a whipple is quiet. :D

Still out of my budget no matter what happens, but stilllike to dream.

Thanks for the tech.

Hi Mark

I I sold my 1471's before mounting them for 305r's ,
so I'm very personaly interested in the next test on free
horsepower comparison .

After speaking with you got me wondering if I should be
running intercoolers with them when I buy them it should be as a package with coolers , for 900 HP I want to make with them they .will be safer with the intercoolers ? future projects
would require cooler though .

The free horses for intercooling plus the free horses on the 1471 comparison should raise HP 150+ before adding any boost to motors ?
