Default seawater pump/fuel pump question

Has anyone ever taken one of these apart...I look at the schematic and cant figure out how to get the shaft out of the housing....am going to change bearings and seals if i can figure out how to get it apart...I have the impellar and housing off and have the fuel pump off also...I know i need to press the pulley off but ......then how does the shaft come out...Hopefully someone has done this or has a Merc service manual #16 that can look and see and pass the info on to me...Thanks

I'm in the process of doing mine. The service manual says to press off the (pulley) hub. Then puncture the front oil seal and pry from bearing housing. Remove the snap ring from under the seal and press out shaft from the back (impeller side).

IM me a fax no. or your e-mail and I will scan and send you the pages tomorrow out of the manual.

Remove the pulley first.

You have to make sure you get the snap-ring off before you press anything!!

I looked on their website and in McMaster Carr. I don't see it listed. There is a 5140, may be a missprint. Call your local Merc dealear and see what they use or call the Merc tech line.
