Sorry for the delay, I wasn't getting notification of replys.

Thanks for all the information. I'm running in total fresh water with the mercathode system and magnesium for the trim tabs, aluminum (couldn't find magnesium) for the gimble plates on TRS drives.

I do not leave the shore power plugged in because I don't have an isolator. I just had the drives painted and have been told the bare stainless props help promote galvanic corrosion. Since I have always seen aluminum painted, I thought why not SS.

James, thanks for the very thorough post.

Paint would last mere moments on a high-performance prop. The pressures on those blades are significant. Plus, you'l lose some small level of performance.

You might consider having your props electroless nickle plated (not chrome). It won't rust or oxidize in any way and it adds zero thickness.

Another thing to consider is if you leave your boat in the water all the time like at a slip are there any boats that are tied up next to you.If they have any electrical or grounding issues it can effect your boat. Also when you see boaters wind there shore power cord tight around a steel pilling like a thimble at dock and use it I was told it can effect the under water metals on your boat also. One last thing make sure all your engine and drive grounding straps are in place.

So nickle plating would cut down on galvanic corrosion?

Electroless nickle is a thermal/chemical plating process that bonds nickle at the molecular level right to your base material. Nickel is pretty much impervious to oxidization.
