Comp 911 single with dampener: 130 - 140 on the seat / 345 - 355 open with 550-575 lift

Your 130 is still alot on the seat for a new cam break in. Mine is at 80-90 lbs. on the seat. This is plenty for opening and closing on just break in. I did also price the reduced ratio rockers and tried to find some to use..I might just buy some then I could rent them out for everyone to use.?

It's not the seat pressure that'll kill it, it's the open pressure. The 1.5 rockers don't take anything off the seat they just lower the open by not pushing the spring down as far. I usually install the 911's at about 125-130# I break in all my motors on the dyno and have never had a problem. Having said that, about the only time I use those springs is on really tiny cams which limits the open pressures to around 310# I like the idea of the 1.5 rockers but would rather spend the money on a roller cam

I agree the low ratio's will not help the seat preassure , only the open b/c of the limited lift.... As for the last statment : If I hadn't already bought the flat tappet & lifters & I didn't already have the heads set up , I would penny up the differance & go roller... But now it would cost me another 1k
plus what I already have in the other stuff (& ontop of that I wouldn't gain a ton of HP with my setup ).... So why is it that practicly everything I do in this sport comes down to the same conclusion $$$$$$$$$$$....... Oh well I still love it !!!
