Hey Rick ,What make screw machines do or did you run? I ran Brown and Sharp with a Lipe bar feed at National Cash Register. Didn't think they were still around with CNC now days.

Mike,

We have Star and Citizen CNC twin spindle with live tooling, we make Titanium Dental implants(fancy Screws) about 100 machines total, working 3 shifts. Most of our operators came off Brown and Sharps at Amphenol in CT, and moved down here for the weather. I dont run a machine, I did Quality Control, and now work in the Quality engineering Dept as a Tech.

we supply about 1/4 of the worlds dental implants, and ours is a complete system, not just the implanted screw, but all of the tools, and attachments also, besides our operation, we also have machines in Jacksonville, new Jersey, Indiana, Spain and China. When a new product is released, I design all of the inspection criteria, spec out the inspection equipment, inspection software, inspection intervals, sample quantities, create all of the inspection sheets, etc. etc. When I explain it like that, I think I should get a raise

Sounds like your under paid.
Maybe you should ask for a raise. What is the name of the company?

Actually, I just got into this position about 6 months ago, before that I was a shop floor inspector on 3rd. shift to make ends meet, but I have done this type of work before at other Med. Device Co's. The Company is Biomet 3I, formerly Implant Innovations Inc(3I). Funny story, the company started out as a jobshop called Latham Manufacturing, we built superchargers, and had the contract to make the Gold Rockers for Crane, they then got a contract for bonescrews for a local dentist, and the 2 partnered up to form 3I(we no longer make engine parts), and then sold to Biomet about 5 years ago. Biomet makes Knees, hips etc.

Sorry for Hijacking yer thread Laz
