rocker / lifter noise???

Make sure the rockers are not hitting the spring retainers . Sometimes you need to grind a little clearance on the underside of the rocker. Since you changed the valve train, common sense tells you to look there first for the noise. Good luck.

What does the noise sound like?
Mine's been making noise for a couple of years. Don't know WTF it is. I'm down to just assuming piston slap and going with the run it until it dies method. Mine's a stock 502 though, and it's been rebuilt at least once. It has about 250-260 hours since the rebuild, and it's been making the noise for most of that time, if not the whole time.
