Price seems a little high to me, Although financing is a great offer. Last spring I got a 2000 Eliminator 236 Eagle XP with a 454Mag 385Hp x Bravo1 and Trailer $42,000.

Yes I've seen this happen too.
When I ay my first boat, I mean the first boat I own. I've been boating on my parents and family boats for more than 20 years.
I'm finally at a point in my life where (Wife and Kid) I can get my own.

Try looking for some comparisons on www.boattrader.com even though this is mainly for used boats quite a few new dealers list their boats here too. My guess on price 38-41K. It does have some nice options like K planes and silent choice.

Thanks for eveyones reply.
The dealers claim to fame on this deal is this:
With 1.97% for first two years and 6.99% for the remaining eight years, that over the life of the loan I would save $4,856.64 when compaired to a loan of 7.25% for ten years.
Quick numbers would be:
List price is: $48725.00
Show discount: $ 1760.00
Minus savings on loan: $ 4856.64
Cost of boat after 10 years: $42,104.00 + tax
I think I may be close. Should still be able to get 1K 1.5K off the price.
My only remain problem is I would have to kept the boat for 10 years to recover the total loan savings of $4856.00.
Does this sound about right?
Once again thanks for your imput.

For what its worth and with respect!, stop trying to equate boating and finances in the same sentence, they will NEVER work!
I have purchased several new boats in my time and boating is an expensive hobby. The boat you're looking at may be priced fairly for your geographic area, just compare with another dealer in proximity.
If we were all fairly honest. none of us have ever made a killing trying to get the best deal on a new boat. Don't we all get the "deal" on a new truck/car?, yeah right and dealers are not-for-profit. If you and yours like the boat and its a competitve price, go for it and enjoy. Good luck

Ok,
If you pay $46,695 for the boat 10 years and 7.25% you would have payments of $551.37 per month and total payback of $66,164.88 over 10 years for your boat.
If I knew the payments the dealer quoted for you I could tell you what you are saving. You are saving over the 7.25% deal IF the sale price is the same.
But lets say the deal will take $1500 off if you go with the higher rate deal. That makes your payments $530.60 or you boat costs you $63,671.28 over 10 years a savings of $2,496.60.
If your payments were tiered for the different rates you would have payments of $429.03 for 24 months @ 1.97 and 518.59 for 96 months @ 6.99 or a total payback of $60,081.36.
Thats a savings of $6,083.52 over the life of your loan assuming you don't sell it early!
To break even you need the dealer to come down to $42,646.81 at 7.25 for 10 years to have the same total payback as the tiered rate plan.
Now after having said this it still doesnt tell you if you are paying too much for the boat. Only comparing financing options.
