My understanding is that you can run with a search light on. A search light is one that is hand or remotely controlled. I suppose the cops would expect to see it being swept across the horizon frequently in order to not consider it a fixed light. Fishing boats, party boats all have lights on and I don't know what the cops say about that. I guess there is not much they can say.

Not a good idea. It will really reflect back on you and will illuminate the deck too much. I have heard of this on Sea Rays and they quickly switched to a spot on the bow. That is the only way to not refect. It really does not work any other way. Plus the remote spot can be positioned almost 360 deg. They are awsome.

Donzimitch is absolutely right, you'll get an excellent view of your deck and thats all.

Default Don't let them RAZZZ you Jason....

I knew where you were comming from, but a cordless, rechageable or 12V hand held spot light works great. Its true, if you illuminate the cockpit too much, you wont be able to see crap off in the distance..

P.S. how is the project comming ??

you won't be able to see anything with them up there...get yourself a handheld...you'll be much happier. if you still want to do it, check with too old he just took one off with lights on it and see what he says.
