502 Issues
It would seem after a couple different comp. tests that the intake and heads need to come off my baja with a 502. I need to at least do head gaskets and I was thinking some stainless valves while it was apart.
My issue is I have a mechanic that has done all my work on the boat in the last four years. He is estimating 15 hours x $60 per hour and another marine service is coming in at $500 to tear it down and put it back together. This is a $400 dollar difference! I trust the first guys work and have never used the lower priced place. The higher priced mechanic is going to sea trial the boat when done and do any tweaking that needs to be done included in his price.
I was wondering if anyone has any idea what an accurate amount of time or money would be for this service. The quotes do not include parts or any head work, just taking the the intake and heads off and putting it back together then getting it running.
Thanks
