I know it can be done, but not sure how. I had my advance curve changed on Unilite by a local machine shop. They were the only shop arounfd here that knew how to do it. That was 10+ years ago on a hot rod car.

it's very easy, remove the breaker plate, look down below, loosen the screws holding the sloted parts, slide all the way to no advance and thats it...Rob

called mallory tech support, they said to remove springs, and arms, and either drill and use a roll pin, or weld it solid, looks like im just gonna tig weld it solid, will respond if it works or if i tear up my engine for future reference of other people

don't see any reason to weld and pin, if you lock it down at no advance your done and can reverse if need to....the screws hold the advance amount all the time anyway ??

ezstripper, i just found this, from the mallory tech website

"If you have a YH mechanical advance (there will be an "H" on the end of the part number on the side of the distributor)it is easy. Remove the unilite plate, loosen the two torx head screws, rotate the stop plate all the way so the advance can't rotate and tighten the screws. If you have a distributor that was made more than about 6 years ago it probably won't have a YH advance. In that case you will have to remove the shaft assembly and cross drill the sleeve the rotor sits on and install a roll pin to lock the sleeve to the shaft. RobbMc "

so my distributor must be a old one , tech guy on the phone said i could also weld it, instead of doing the pins, hopefully someone else can use this info down the road
