Cool Help, Trim Tab Wiring

It has been so long since i removed my engines from my 38 sonic that in reinstalling, i have forgotten were the long red wire coming off the oump for the tabs goes. it is long enough that i beleive it goes to starter solenoid, just wondering if anyone knows for sure

That red wire needs 12V+ batt power....if its long enough to reach the starter then connect it to the batt cable...if you can go straight to the battery, even better.....or if you want to be able to have the batt's isolated when the boats not in use, run the red wire to the output of your 1/2/both switch.....

Mine goes to the starter positive where the battery cable attaches. My pump has a circuit breaker on it.

No, I believe that wire is energized only when you engage the starter. You really want the trim pump to have continuously available power whenever your safety main switch(es) are on. Good luck- Jeff
