Volvo makes a kit for installing their drive onto an OMC transom... just a thought.

Ex,
The King Cobra to Bravo I is the same pattern transom cutout. You don't have to do anything to the drive other then bolt it on. You don't even have to drill any holes! I did the conversion several years ago with a 24'. I don't know if the standard OMC Cobra drive is the same, but the OMC King Cobra is an even swap to a Bravo. Hope this helps! Good luck!

How can you tell which drive you have? I had work done on mine last year, and it says King Cobra all over the place, and behind the 7.5L you would think it would be the King. But the trim sensor and shift cable ended up being for a standard Cobra.

I was going to do the Volvo conversion, but if a Bravo I will fit, I can get those for a song alot easier than a Volvo drive.

Sure would be nice if the Bravo I fit the standard Cobra too if thats what I have.

It will fit no problem.. I have one jig in my shop that does Bravo, Volvo Sx, Cobra, and King Cobra. They're all virtually identical. Good luck

Did you have to redo the entire gimbal housing?
