I can point you to someone who knows a secret or 2 about those engines. He can get about 50 more hp without supercharging and it doesn't cost that much, but if you want to, he can whipple the thing too. He's one of the few Jedi Masters out there when it comes to 525's.

Personally, I would either put a supercharger on it or leave it alone and pull it out and build something. If you put the blower on, you can always take it off to sell the boat.If you go to a 540, there is no going back. In order to make another 100 hp NA, you will probably spend damn near 10K to do it right and make it reliable.

You absolutely MUST CALL Tyler Crockett. He has some outstanding mods for the 525 and a new one which he will unvail at PRI. Do yourself a hugh favor, call him ASAP.

I would look on www.Hotboat.com and http://www.performanceboats.com/html/forums/index.php.
make sure how old and if salt water? the intake water passages corrode on the head side pretty easy.
Just remember if ya change up the motor configuration now and later go with a Whipple,The new ecm will need a map will probably have to be made,dyno time$$$ .If ya don't want that much power at first
just turn down the boost.keep it to a known combination so they will already have a map for that engine.
